Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions we hear most often. If you’d like to talk it through, call us on 0330 043 9795 or email Support@EthicalConveyancing.co.uk.

How quickly can I get a quote?

Most customers receive a fixed-fee estimate immediately after completing the quote form.

Is your quote fixed?

Yes — the legal fee you’re quoted won’t change during the transaction, and we don’t add hidden extras. If additional work is needed, we’ll explain what it is, why it’s required, and any cost before you proceed.

What does “No Move, No Fee” mean?

If your transaction doesn’t complete, you won’t be charged a legal fee. You may still be charged for disbursements already incurred on your behalf (for example, searches if they’ve been ordered).

What are disbursements?

Disbursements are third-party costs paid on your behalf, such as searches, Land Registry fees, bank transfer fees, or management pack fees (leasehold).

How long does conveyancing take?

A typical freehold purchase can complete in around 8–11 weeks, but timescales vary depending on the chain, searches, enquiries and mortgage lender. Leasehold matters can take longer due to additional parties and documentation.

Will I get updates?

Yes. We prioritise proactive updates so you’re not left chasing for information. You’ll also have access to support if you have questions at any stage.

Do you use qualified solicitors?

Yes. Your file is handled by an experienced, fully-qualified solicitor supported by a wider team.

Can I choose the solicitor?

We match you with a carefully selected partner firm based on your transaction. If you have a preference, tell us and we’ll do our best to accommodate it.

Do you do sales, purchases and remortgages?

Yes — we can help with buying, selling, remortgaging, and transfer of equity. Use the quote tool or contact us to discuss your situation.
